I have no doubt that 2020 will take its’ place as the most difficult year in modern American history. Between racial injustice, police brutality, a global pandemic, and a lunatic in the White House, we’ve experienced a lifetime worth of sadness, pain, anger and frustration, all in one year. To maintain some level of sanity we’ve become experts at seeking out happiness in these ugly and uncertain times. For so many of us Punk Rock is the guiding force that provides a much needed spark of hope. Punk Rock is an outlet for our pain, an expression of our rage and an escape from this incomprehensible world we now find ourselves trying to survive in. We need Punk Rock now more than ever. It seems frivolous to complain about our canceled 2020 tour and frankly, a tour bill with The Jasons, Richie Ramone and The Radio Buzzkills may have been too much for the universe to handle. Still, we have to admit that we were all little destroyed that we didn’t get to hit the road this summer. Oh, what a blast those shows would have been! As we used our unanticipated free time to work on new material we came to a realization, it wasn’t being kept from the stage that made us so disheartened. It was missing the opportunity to hang out with all of our friends. We missed pounding PBRs in Greg Brenner’s Indianapolis Punk Rock Mansion then hanging out with Don, Rusty and The Covert Flops at The Melody Inn, we missed catching up with Dave, Kelsey, Ed, Marky and Maria in Chicago, we missed catching up with our punk rock mentors Mass and Wayne in Lafayette, we missed opening up the tour in sweet home St.Louis where we’ve shared so many great memories with our little Punk Rock family (you know who you are). We missed spending time with all of you who come out to every show and dance like there’s no tomorrow. So this little EP is for all the drinks and dances we didn’t get to share this summer. We’ll catch you next time.
